The launch of the new service gives optometrists in Wales the clinical freedom to manage patients in primary optometric environment and also ensuring referral to secondary opthamology are as detailed as possible and also as appropriate. EHEW service has the potential to relieve hospital eye service capacity challenges. Practices in Wales now request their locums to be EHEW accredited for placements.
