Introduction
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced oncology pharmacist to join a dedicated and dynamic team of healthcare professionals, providing high-quality care to oncology patients. The successful candidate will be expected to stay with the team for a minimum of 6 months, while exposed to opportunities for professional growth and development.
Job specification
- Conducting medication reviews and ensuring that drug therapy is appropriate and effective for patients
- Preparing and dispensing chemotherapy medications and ensuring that they are administered safely and in accordance with established protocols
- Monitoring patients for adverse drug reactions and making appropriate recommendations to physicians
- Providing drug information and education to patients and healthcare professionals
- Participating in the development and implementation of oncology-specific policies and procedures
- Contributing to the development and implementation of clinical research projects
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient medication records
Candidate requirements
- Current registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong computer skills, including experience with pharmacy information systems
